The HUD can be centered to an arbitrary level. In the screenshot I went with 16:9, but you can make it arbitrarily wide. 1:1 (1.0), 5:4 (1.25), 4:3 (1.33), 3:2 (1.5), 16:10 (1.6), 16:9 (1.778), 21:9 (2.33), 32:9 (3.56) and even further beyond.
