A new study shows that only 2.27% of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation's (SRG) cultural content is about games For the first time, the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation commissioned a systematic analysis of cultural content within its editorial offerings. The SGDA welcomes the publication of the study, supports culture as an anchor in the SRG's programming and sees the study as an important first step. The SGDA also welcomes that the study explicitly recognizes games as a cultural sector for the first time, acknowledging that video games are an integral part of Switzerland’s contemporary cultural landscape. At the same time, the study also highlights a significant imbalance in representation. According to the report, only 2.27% of cultural coverage is dedicated to games, while other cultural sectors such as film, music, and folklore receive substantially more attention. This does not reflect the actual importance of games in today’s media consumption and cultural life in Switzerland.
