Statement: June 24 is the four year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous anti-abortion decision in the Donna case, which was the culmination of years of Republican organizing to overturn Roe v Wade and strip pregnant people of their rights. Continuing to protect abortion rights in Chicago is critical, as people from surrounding states with abortion bans are forced to travel here to access healthcare. As a member of City Council I pledge that I will support access to and funding for reproductive healthcare. In particular I will work to safeguard the physical clinic spaces, which current Alderman Jim Gardiner refused to do in 2024 when he voted with the council’s right wing bloc against establishing a protective quiet zone to stop harassment of patients.

I’m a 10 year Jefferson Park resident, a parent of kids at Portage Park Elementary School, and an experienced community organizer, and I am so excited to meet you. The election for city council is in one year, on February 23, 2027, but we’re getting started now because in the next year we want to connect with as many people as we can to learn about what you need and figure out solutions together.
