"You state that the Council is therefore in breach of its own policies and acting contrary to the law by not taking legal action against the landowner who blocked the PRoW. The Council has responded to this issue by referring to the letter to the you dated 20 April 2026 which clarifies there were procedural shortcomings at that time. Further, based on Counsel’s advice in 2021, it is felt that assertion would not now stand up in Court. The lack of evidence from Council‘s last call for evidence gives Council little comfort (again based on Counsel’s advice) that any current assertion would stand up in Court either. It is clear that the former Carrickfergus Council intended to assert the PRoW at this location, however due to failures to follow up with the necessary procedural steps, including informing the landowner, this process was not concluded. I consider this constitutes prima facie evidence of maladministration by the former Carrickfergus Council. "

With our guide Issa for the Bethlehem to Jericho Palestine leg of our Nazareth Trust nazarethtrust.org bike ride back in 2019. We're on the opposite side of the wadi from the incredible and ancient Mar Saba monastery, down from Bethlehem and Beit Sahour. It's a spectacular place.

From my bike ride this morning - my bike lies flung at the side of the road, while a friandly young horse watches over it. Belfast Lough is resplendent in the background, and there are trees and stuff.
