An email written to Ennie Awards: Dear Stacy, I have long used the Ennie Awards results as a great guide to indie RPG creators and artists. Many wonderful hours have been spent around the table, enjoying the writing and work of hundreds of passionate independent creators based off of the recommendation of the Ennie community. I have spent hard earned money to support the creativity and passion of these creators, these people. These people. When I saw today that the Ennie Award submission forms allow for AI generated content I was disgusted. Tabletop games are about building community, friendships, and common stories that last in your memories the rest of your life. I vehemently believe that AI cannot compare, cannot contribute meaningfully to that ecosystem because it cannot in any way understand the love and emotion that goes into the craft these creators strive to master. If the Ennie Awards continue to support the use of AI in any way, I have no hesitation in saying "We're done." Your reputation and standing with the writer and artist community will be tarnished and broken. I hope you change your mind. I await your decision. Sincerely, Shaun Makes
