JOHNSON RECREATION CENTER TO CRESTON HILLS PARK About 20 minutes of slow-paced riding each way. Dates are May 31st and July 5th. B-RIDE 7.4mi WILLA D. JOHNSON RECREATION CENTER TO OKLAHOMA RAILWAY MUSEUM About 30 minutes of slow-paced riding each way. Dates are June 7th and July 12th. C-RIDE 9.6 mi WILLA D. JOHNSON RECREATION CENTER TO OKLAHOMA FIREFIGHTERS MUSEUM About 40 minutes of slow-paced riding each way. Dates are June 14th and July 19th. D-RIDE 10.8 mi WILLA D. JOHNSON RECREATION CENTER TO THE OKLAHOMA CITY ZOO About 50 minutes of slow-paced riding each way. Dates are June 21st and July 26th. MORE RIDE DETAILS ON THE RIDE ALERT APP & FACEBOOK This is a set of 8 summer rides designed for families and novice riders, but the rides are open to anyone looking for a super casual, beginner-friendly, low-commitment ride. The destinations are family-friendly, each ride has a max average speed of 10 mph, and nobody is ever left behind. The meet-up time is at 7:30 am, and we roll when everyone is ready. We get how hard mornings can be with kids and don't mind waiting a few minutes for latecomers. Due to scheduling, not all destinations will be open during the rides. According to the League of American Bicyclists, 40% of all trips in the U.S. are less than two miles, making bicycling a feasible and fun way to get to work. Bike to Work Week is observed May 13-19, with National Bike to Work Day taking place on Friday, May 17. The cities of Edmond, Norman, Oklahoma City, Piedmont, and Yukon will be hosting group rides! View the interactive map of the routes here: https://arcg.is/0rXvSX There will be five organized group rides in Oklahoma City on the morning of May 17, starting from the Plaza District, Mesta Park, 30th Street Market, the Science Museum, and ODOT. All five routes will end at Bicentennial Park in Downtown OKC, where riders and bike enthusiasts will convene between 7:45am and 9am to swap bike stories and enjoy a free drink generously provided by Junction Coffee.
