I don't know why Bluesky needs to do this to links. Exit intent popups are usually used on shopping sites to keep you. If I had to guess with the most generous intent about the @safety.bsky.app team, perhaps these embedded links from @techmeme.com might be perceived as user protection? Anyone know?

It is so that you see the full URL of the link you clicked, or accidentally clicked, allowing you to verify you want to open it or not. This helps to prevent you from opening scammy dot website dot com before it is too late. This protects users.
