Hi everyone, 
We were relieved and pleased to see the news that ICE is withdrawing from Minnesota. This is a huge triumph for local residents and testament to their resilience and community spirit. However, we have not been immune to the disruptions around these events, and this has necessitated some rethinking of our event programming. We made the tough decision to scale back on some of the larger events and focus on the Carnival and community events which form the core part of the Shoebox experience. The scheduled cEDH events will be replaced with on-demand cEDH pods which are available all weekend. The Team Limited and Pauper main events will go ahead as planned, although there may be some scale-down based on attendance and registration. The Carnival Pai Gow cube event will be replaced with a Pai Gow cube that can be borrowed for free play. Other Carnival events will be unaffected. The Cube main event is unaffected. We would like to thank our fantastic community for your understanding and patience with us as we work out the kinks in our first year. Hi everyone, Over the last few days, we have been watching the situation in Minnesota and the Twin Cities unfold with sadness. The Shoebox team would like to extend our well wishes for the safety of everyone living locally and commend the massive, inspirational response of Minnesotans. We will go ahead with Shoebox 2026. We believe that there is great benefit to creating a space for joy and belonging in difficult times. We hear and echo local organizers' pleas encouraging people to visit, support businesses and attend events in the community. To bring what support we can to the area, we will be donating 10% of the profit from this event to appropriate Twin Cities charities and funds. It's understandable to feel worried about attending. We will have dedicated security and metal detectors and are working with the venue on further appropriate safety measures. You can also get a refund, no-questions-asked, until February 28th. We hope and expect the situation will be significantly better by then. We'll be putting out more information including our full schedule in the coming days. Love and solidarity, The Shoebox Team
