Butterfly on the butterfly weed we have that grows here in Arkansas. The bright orange butterfly weed attracts lots of butterflies to the area and provides them nectar. This photo was taken at Mt. Magazine State Park in Arkansas.
Falling Water Falls in the Richland Creek area of the Ozark National Forest is on of my favorite places in the fall. Three water falls are shown running over the drop off shelf of Falling Water Falls. This has easy access from the forest service road. One of my favorite places in Arkansas. Fall colors along with the blue waters makes for a peaceful scene.

Cotton Bloom on day 2. Day 1 they are white in color and by day two they are a bright pink. Dew drops can be seen on the petals as well. Cotton is still an important crop in Arkansas.
White blooms on cotton plant in late summer. An unopened cotton boll can be seen in the middle between the two white blooms. Cotton blooms will open the first day as a white bloom and the second day they will turn a bright pink. As the cotton matures the boll developed and the blooms fall off. Cotton bolls will then open in the fall as what everyone recognizes as cotton with the fiber being exposed as white.

Cedar Falls at Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas after a huge rain. Cedar Falls is 95 feet tall and flows into Cedar Creek Canyon. Petit Jean State Park is a certified Train of Tears National Historic Trail Site.
