That’s it. That’s us. Everything there has ever been or ever was. Everyone that’s ever been in love, everyone that has ever hated someone, all the wars and sadness and heartbreak, all the hope and dreams of what could be is right there. I’m there. You’re there. And doesn’t it seem strange to you that we haven’t yet collectively figured it out? That for all the absurdity of what is, what we have done, this miraculous blink of possibility and beauty and wonder that rose up from the mud on a little pebble, all too soon fades back into dust? Doesn’t that make you just want to hold on a little tighter? To reach out for something worth a damn? To try?
