Getting angry at these people is like getting angry at your Sim. It's not their fault that they have collapsed in a puddle of tears instead of making dinner. You have to look at the factors that led them to do that. And fix them.

I get where you're coming from, but I feel like you're "noble-savaging" these people a bit. They have self-agency. They aren't mindless drones, or NPCs, or Sims characters. Of course people can be misled. But its also their responsibility to evaluate and also self-evaluate accurately.
