Looking in the door of an HVAC unit where the filter installed has a one or two inch gap down the left hand side. Please don't do this. The gap allows air to flow around the filter medium, reminiscent of the gaps in a surgical / medical mask. A good seal is important.
Immunizations for COVID-19 and flu high-risk and priority groups will begin in phases. COVID-19 vaccines will be available starting the week of September 22. Flu vaccines will be available at pharmacies starting the week of October 14. Starting October 27, free flu and COVID-19 shots will be available to the general public. If you are 6 months and older, you can receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as, or at any time before or after, the flu shot and/or other routine immunizations, as well as RSV.

Cytel, Inc., Waltham, MA, USA Overview BACKGROUND • Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats.7,8Rarely, animal coronaviruses can infect people and then spread between people such as with MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and now a new virus named SARS-CoV-2, which is causing the “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).14It became a public health threat requiring the rapid development and distribution of vaccines around the world to help combat the virus. • The successful rapid development of vaccines piques the interest of health decision-makers and governments to assess their cost effectiveness.12There are different health economic models used in conducting economic evaluations for diseases. However, the challenge with capturing the complexity of virus progression and mutations, and the waning effects of the vaccines implies the need for a more standard model.18,5,2 OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to review and summarize the available published economic evaluations of COVID-19 vaccines to aid in the development of future cost-effectiveness models. MML So, with regard to that issue and something you mentioned earlier, how should we define herd immunity with respect to COVID, I mean, how do we think of it? ASF I wrote a paper on that. It was a simple paper [9]. It stated that we cannot apply the standard criteria of herd immunity. It's not applicable with SARS-CoV-2. And the reason is, it's simple. I can synopsize the paper in 30 seconds. One is that herd immunity is dependent on an immune response that is durable, measured in decades to a lifetime, and a pathogen that does not change. So, you have clear-cut herd immunity with measles. Why? The measles that I got infected with as a child, because I was born before the measles vaccine, is the same measles that's killing kids in the developing world today. Number 2, if you get infected with measles or you get vaccinated with measles, the duration of protection minimally is decades and maximally is lifetime. Those are the criteria that you need for herd immunity. Because if you have a pathogen that keeps changing like the multiple variants of SARS, and if you have a duration of immunity that's measured in months, the entire concept of herd immunity is no longer valid. That's the point.

When indoors, keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. When there is an extreme heat event occurring with poor air quality, prioritize keeping cool. Protect your indoor air from wildfire smoke. Actions can include using a clean, good quality air filter in your ventilation system and/or a certified portable air cleaner that can filter fine particles. If you must spend time outdoors, a well-constructed, well-fitting and properly worn respirator type mask (such as a NIOSH-certified N95 or equivalent respirator) can reduce your exposure to the fine particles in the smoke. Even though exposure may be reduced, there can still be risks to health. Check in on others who are in your care or live nearby who may be more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution.
