Text of argument to come out actively against the nomination of RFK Jr as Secretary of HHS: There have been rumors that you will vote in favor of RFK because of your friendship with him. I do not object to you being friends with him. You are free to choose whoever you like as friends however Secretary of HHS is a position that affects the health of every American as well as around the world. Someone who ignores clearly established science to question the repeatedly proven life saving benefits of vaccines is completely unqualified to head HHS. Approving him will literally cause thousands if not millions of deaths and disease. As a PhD scientist who has spent my career trying to improve medical treatments and diagnostics, I am appalled that he was nominated and anyone who votes to approve this nomination will be complicit in those deaths. You should come out strongly against this nomination and state that publicly. Failing to do so is a slap in the face to medical practitioners and researchers in RI and everywhere.
