Kyle’s voice on the phone: I don’t know how we’re supposed to get through another Lena fucking Dunham sober… at least if i shit myself I’ll (his words disappear behind the Hollywood hills as he goes inside) The lights click on in the hall. One side of the house is in the hillside and the other is all windows looking out over the pool and LA. It’s possible to see anything that happens in the house from out here.

The only true colour comes from the cockpit of the bug-like vehicle which, against all expectation, contains a sleeping infant. Warmed by red heating lights, the baby skin glows in the display of digital readouts on the glass which show everything from their vital signs to radiation patterns. In the void there is no day & no night which suits a baby’s sleep schedule perfectly. The baby sleeps when they want. When the child sleeps, BG4 focuses on other things, running diagnostics & crawling cables to free zones & wrecks to scavenge leftover proteins to break down & integrate into his feed liquid, augmenting his recycled waste & the rapidly dwindling biofuel pods recovered from the last collision.
Continued - (though in layperson’s terms, everything is ‘above’ a black hole as it will eventually fall in). The BG4 is generating an animated character to entertain the infant and help its brain to develop and protecting them with one claw from the glare of periodic flares as ships warp space to escape the gravity well.
