Reddish needles from evergreen trees cover the ground like a thick blanket, blending into green grass on the horizon as a handful of thin tree trunks poke up at the top edge of the photo.
Over a dozen bright orange brushstrokes appearing like tongues of fire emanate from a turbulent pool of bluish ink on the upper third of the page. The blue pool has energetic peaks spiking up from the top, made from a dry paint brush run through the pool of blue ink. Coarsely textured and speedy black brush strokes divide the page to form a slightly arching, horizontal division just about the middle of the page. A field of dark charcoal with the grainy white texture of the paper showing through occupies the bottom half of the page, giving a sense of two contrasting media used in this piece: the fluid and the textured. The blue shape above and the curved sort of horizon in the middle give a slight sense of arriving at new lands, like a coastline but with mysterious waters, and tongues of fire on the horizon.

Black charcoal weaves accross the white page in dense, somewhat random abstract shapes, almost completely black towards the top of the page which resembles something like a night sky, as several light abstract shapes in the bottom half form a foreground. The picture displays a great sense of visual depth despite being mostly dark, giving a sense of just barely making out forms in the midsts of a landscape at night.

Black and blue ink merge together about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the page into a dark and chaotic series of shadow-like shapes with fast-moving wisps of brush marks extending from its top and bottom, evidence of its quickly painted process. A more transparently painted almond shape above it resembles a flame of blue with highlights of orange in its center.

Black charcoal is gradually built up over an entire page of paper, creating a night-like scene of darkness with subtle shapes forming in the night that are vaguely reminiscent a landscape. Whisps of black lines arch across the foreground of the page adding a mysterious sense of motion to the image.
Back charcoal is applied in a variety of thickness over white paper, the darkness growing most dense near a thick horizon line a little lower than half way down the page, the charcoal creating a mostly dark image, like night, with subtle waves of black here and there in the darkness along with specks of white from the paper showing thorough, reminiscent of stars up above or the texture of a landscape in the foreground.

Black charcoal is spread gradually across a white page, building up a subtle dark horizon toward the bottom third of the page, with markings from the charcoal faintly suggesting clouds or foliage in the random texture that forms, and leaving small flickers of white from the grain of the paper, reminiscent of stars in the sky above or texture of the ground below which cover the page and add to the quiet, slightly haunting yet comforting mood.
