Please overturn the ban of the use of tracing over 3-D models and your own/permissioned photos. Not only is this highly unenforceable, but professional artists like myself have been using 3-D assets and self-referencing photos to assist in pose, perspective and prop designs for ages. I've taken pictures of the classic wooden artist mannequin at different perspectives and drawn over it for classes in actual art school to learn how to utilize that as a tool. Using a 3-D model is no different to set up your pose or perspective shot. I understand not allowing pre-made dolls and Hero Forge for attacks, but the faceless mannequins of posable 3-D assets used in CSP or other modeling software are blank canvases allowing artists to capture their pose before adding their own unique characteristics. To put it bluntly, no one is fully tracing and uploading a featureless mannequin and trying to pass it off as a character. There will always be additions and characteristics added that turn it into art. There is still a lot of uniformed flak in the art community, particularly by non-artists, that tracing and even using references is 'cheating' which is highly preposterous. As long as you are not tracing the direct art of another artist, I see no problems with using the tools we have at our disposal to create handmade human art. I highly encourage Art Fight to walk back to extreme rigidity of this updated rule. This is an unbelievably kind and fun contest, and we do not need to uphold these sorts of poor ideals among artists at any level.

The school was going to remove established and mature Oregon great plants that Anna's hummingbirds used to survive the winter in the Pacific Northwest. The environmental department along with the environmental club and several other student organizations came together to protest the placement of the mural and eventually got it removed to a wall where no plants would be removed or damaged and the installation. To celebrate preserving one of our precious intact wild garden spots I painted an Anna's hummingbird in Oregon grape to go on to the mural and remind people of what we fought for and what will we accomplish.
