Me: So you agree Putin attacked first. Vatnik: Depends on the date, Ukraine attacked Donbass early on in 2014, but Putin preempted their planned offensive in 2022. As they say it takes two to tango... Me: Ah, so you agree that it was Putin behind the separatists. Vatnik: Of course he supported them, it's the only normal thing to do. People from Donbass want to be a part of Russia, they have that right and for Russia to support them is the only correct way in my opinion. Me: Is that how borders between countries change? Based on someone's opinions? Have you met any of these people from Donbas? I have, and me are fundraising to support the Ukrainian army. Vatnik: Actually yes, at least according to western ideas, namely when Kosovo was taken from Serbia. And yes, | do know a guy from Donbass, he's 70+ and living in Austria and wants to go back to fight, as he had fought in 2014. But they won't take him, apparently there's no demand for old guys, so that's one of the ways to tell that the Russian side is doing just fine. Me: So he doesn't want to live in Russia but instead in Austria, curious.
