A text conversation where I replace Noonien Soong with Kahn Noonien Singh in Lore’s rhyme that he uses to mock his feeble father, though here it mocks Kahn for being on different Ceti Alpha than Starfleet thought. Pretty unfair of me since it wasn’t Kahn’s fault they thought he was on a different planet, but who cares, Kahn sucked big time and everyone knows it. My friend responds with a complete lack of interest in all of this.
A text message conversation where I say to my friend “When Tim Russ plays the terrorist on the Enterprise D in Starship Mine, his character’s name is Onevok.” And the response from my friend is “You need psychiatric help”. The original text is based on the hilarious idea that, because Tim Russ played multiple roles in the Star Trek franchise, and his second, by far most famous role was of a character named Tuvok (pronounced two-vok), each character is a sort of sequel to the previous character. He next shows up in Star Trek: Generations as an Enterprise B bridge officer, so we can suppose his character’s name there is Threevok. I’d even go so far as to suggest that any science fiction he appears in could be part of this lineage, possibly allowing his Storm Trooper character who combs the desert in Space Balls to be named Negative Onevok, or even the more droid-like -1vok. The possibilities abound. Not sure why my friend responded the way he did.
