It sucks so much because i hate even talking about it. I hate that i have to reduce trans men to "afab" but its genuinely the throughline that i see for so much shit and its abhorrent. People need to stop being so wretched and like. self reflective of their internal biases. I dont think that the internet being male dominated for almost its entirety helps when it comes to that innate misogyny.
Its the big ugly elephant in the room that no one wants to look at because it feels really mean to say out loud but most of the queer space (that I have participated in at least, this is anecdotal) is extremely amab dominated. Maybe this is from the innate privileged of the position as compared to afab peoples but either way it feels tragic to see happen in real time. I don't think this is anyone's fault even, or that people are being performative in respecting identities, but I think in trying to identify any reason in particular it only really serves to cause infighting? I think that we need to be more proactively uplifting unheard voices and combating prejudice in our own communities if we want to build a more ethical and accommodating space like I think we all say we want.
