In the Champions League era, only Ferguson (4), Guardiola (2) and now Arteta have managed to win the PL title and get to a Champions League final in the same season. In the last 20 years, no other manager has won the PL title and made it past the Round of 16 in the UCL in the same season.

Guardiola won the Champions League once in his ten year tenure, and it took him seven years, and that is with all of the financial muscle he had at his disposal.
