It's interesting to watch the good-will your userbase had fade as the months drag on. Much of this could have been mitigated with a simple, browsable mirror. Instead, you have increased scrutiny and criticism as people become increasingly aware of how low a priority SoFurry appears to be. Shape up.
Personnally I'm not really caring about the website, but about all the stories there, and I know that even if an alternative could be found, there would never be all the stories that I love

Shit is ridiculous. Get the fucking thing up already or don’t do it at all. You’re killing your reputation by having an unusable platform for more than 4 months now. Absolutely an absurd amount of time. Trying to be the new rockstar?
Mostly good news here, though I really hope y’all will allow users whose handles you’re automatically changing to change them to something of their choosing once SFX is up. I know I sure wouldn’t wanna be stuck with a handle that ends with “_2” or something, lol.
Happy to hear more news! I'm eagerly awaiting the return of SF. Y'all were my first gallery from the "long, long ago" days and have a special place in my heart, bumps and all.

I've been thinking about this site a lot lately. I think I've been on SoFurry the longest of any active site. But this outage has gone on for so long I have a lot of content waiting to be posted. I have to wonder if the effort is worth it for a site with so little traffic.
This is incredibly disappointing so far and it's starting to become difficult to defend the site and its decisions the last year or so. The site is nothing without its users.
So excited for when this comes back up and I can enjoy all the great stories again. Maybe even write more of my own now that I've got my motivation to do so back!
I would be happy with just a database dump.

Honestly, the ONLY reason I could see someone using a handle that was already "taken" by a user on SF 2 is to steal that users identity and pretend to be that user.

At the rate this is taking it's gonna make some users just stop going to sofurry, even if it's just to read things. And GG with the foresight of letting people change names so easily, that won't cause problems.
