Of course, easier said than done. The outline shader is implemented as a GLSL compute shader using Godot's CompositorEffect. It's no different from most Godot 3D outline shaders, just a bunch of setup to access Godot vars in GLSL. Instead of placing on the screen, it's slapped on the texture. (2/3)

Then it's just a matter of overlaying texture using a second computer shader. The UV for each pixel is shifted a little using a simple noise function (then expanded from just one pixel). That result is what's placed back on the screen. Took a bit of finesse to make it work, but was worth. (3/3)
