[image contents] Easy Pickles Recipe. BRINE: Boil clean water. Add a bunch of salt (hard to have too much, as long as it all dissolves, you're probably fine.) Add vinegar, and some dill herb until it starts to taste like a dill pickle from the store. Add onion/garlic to taste. boil for 3-5 minutes. VEGGIES: While brine is boiling, make sure your veggies are cleaned and cut, and put them into the container you plan to use. (store pickle jars work well on a budget) Make sure you leave an inch or so of space at the top, your veggies will want to float. PICKLES: Turn off heat on your brine. when the liquid stops bubbling aggressively, pour it over your veggies until they're just covered. (leave extra room if your lid fits inside the rim of your jar, to avoid overflow messes when closing it later.) stick a knife gently down the sides and wiggle gently to make sure no bubbles of air are hiding at the bottom and all the veggies surfaces are touching the brine. add more brine if needed. After all these steps, close the jar while it's still hot, and leave on counter to cool to room temp. When cool, place in fridge for 1-3 days. Enjoy your pickles! The longer they sit, the better they get!
