Yes and I believe Judge Toal is retired from being Chief Justice of the SC Supreme Court.
This is a place and a people that cares deeply about preserving status and power for white men, and about preserving all that family legacy bullshit where no one asks too many questions about where that old family money came from (slavery. it came from slavery). DV is a low class crime.
Yeah. The appeals court judge applied the usual standard ("harmless error") that screws over defendants; the state Supreme Court said no, this is a privileged white guy, the usual standard doesn't apply!
