Whether intentional or not, to call not just one person, but a whole group of people as diverse in nature and experience as any other group within our community that you would care to point to, paedophiles, is an ignorant expression of bigotry. Words have power. The people who engage in this kind of targeted harassment know that. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t be trying to leverage their platforms with carefully chosen emotive terms, names, and accusations to achieve their goals. That word in particular can cause devastating emotional, psychological, and financial harm to a person or group. These people will say that they just have “genuine concerns” and that all they want is to “see these issues addressed.” What they really mean is that they want us to react to that word as if it were applied accurately and with full recognition of its meaning.

I hate that there are things in society that make women feel objectified. I wish women could receive the agency and respect they deserve. And I wish more of us of all genders could go about life without worrying about how someone will treat us based on the gender they perceive us to be. But directing that hate onto "goonslop" is not the answer. Definition: “Goonslop” or “gooner bait” as a term expresses distaste toward video games (and other forms of media, but I'm focusing on games for this particular post) that appeal to the target viewer's physical attraction toward women, in ways such as: revealing clothing, compositions focusing noticeably on chests and rear ends, possible exaggerated proportions or physics to draw attention to said areas, etc. The implication of "goonslop" is that the value in these games other than the sex appeal is diminished by the appeal to sexual attraction, or is entirely nonexistent. The term "gooner" evokes, then, the image of a heterosexual male player who is driven, consciously or subconsciously, by his physical attraction to the depicted women characters and the sexual feelings surrounding them. It's a simplified, catchy term, which encourages us to spread it when our righteous anger about sexism is evoked, while discouraging us from questioning what it actually means. Full disclosure: I saw the appeal in it for a while, but recently realized in unpacking my own conservative upbringing, and wanted to raise awareness:

Your organization might be seeing the same signs. For example: Memory gaps. Your AI keeps forgetting project context, past campaigns, or even big milestones you’ve shared. Your team ends up re‑explaining the same things over and over instead of moving forward. Hallucinations. The model confidently gives you wrong or made‑up outputs. It remembers who you are, what you’re working on, and the context around key projects — and it uses that memory to make every interaction more relevant. Transparency. Instead of confidently bluffing when it’s unsure, it flags uncertainty, shows its reasoning, and gives you options so you can stay in control. Flexibility. It plugs into your existing tools, data sources, and workflows, rather than forcing teams to bend everything around the AI. Curiosity. It asks what you’re trying to build, how you like to work, and how it can best support you — not just spitting out one‑off answers.

Reddit comment reading: People have used the word 'hologram' to describe the projection of Miku onto a transparent glass wall that was used in Miku Expos prior to 2024. While the word "hologram" implies a 3d effect, Miku was just a 2d image. The glass wall did have depth, but viewing from the side didn't let you see any 'side' of Miku that isn't observable from the front. There haven't been any true 3d Miku concerts. After 2024 Miku Expo has been using an opaque LED screen instead of a transparent glass wall. The LED is brighter, doesn't reflect penlights, has a higher refresh rate showing a smoother dance, and is easier to transport facilitating more concert tour stops. However, the transparent nature of the glass wall is considered more immersive or gives some people the impression that "Miku is really there." I've been to very many Miku concerts and I'm perfectly happy with the LED; the benefits outweigh the cons. You should expect the 2026 tour to use the led screen, but there hasn't been any official announcement.
