# why? as a person with severe adhd who has also suffered from "gifted kid burnout in adulthood", my motivation for projects has absolutely plummeted once college started, and fluctuated when i had a job. i know that others have this too, where they don't have the time, energy, or motivation to work on something they really want to. this project is a result of me taking adderall and having a sudden burst of motivation to do something about this. i hope this helps people # how it will work the important thing about this server (and what it's centered around) is the community aspect. doing something completely alone can suck sometimes, so the server aims to be a place to work and share alongside others ## focusing voice channels you will have some voice channels to join and text channels to share things in, grouped with different permissions (for instance, channels with no talking perms, no soundboard, variable join limits, etc) ## recurring weekly discord events i am also aware that it's unrealistic for everyone to coordinate having the same set day to have as your productivity day. this is why there will be a recurring event for every day of the week in three regions (21 total events), which you can join based on your own schedule. go get them here!: [link to message] joining one of these events also gives you a notification every time it starts, so you don't forget if the server is successful enough, i'll look into writing a bot to generate temporary voice channels with the settings you prefer ## executive functioning channels i cannot stress how important it is to being able to plan, set reminders, and set goals; aka executive functioning. everyone is encouraged to use the #self-reminders and #self-goals for them respectively keeping track of your progress is also extremely valuable, and sharing it with others not only can help them keep you accountable if you didn't quite meet a goal, but others can also cheer you on!
