Finally got around to requesting data deletion from 23andMe today. It's been a wild ride over the years; I ordered a kit back when I was knee-deep in my evolutionary biology undergrad, curious about my mysterious origins, and actually forked out $500 to find out I'm a bog-standard white person 🍞

Yeah, best to delete all of that, who knows what they're planning to do with that data, but I bet it's nothing good.

I grew up not knowing one half of my biological family tree so it was also quite fascinating to discover and eventually meet my still-living grandfather, who lived not far from my childhood home. It's uncanny how much him and my father are alike despite never having met. (There is... subtext here.)
