I don't really get it. Where would I see these quips? I don't *browse* patreon, I go to a specific patreon page at a time. Patreon to me is a platform to pay creators once I like them, not how I find new creators. This just feels like one more algorithm for people to curse for not blessing them.
He talks about 'walled gardens' being bad for creators, then offers another type of walled garden?? It seems more like one more thing to help make Patreon a monopoly in the online creative marketplace, rather than truly being a benefit for creators.
Interesting. If all creators on the platform adopt this doesn't it mean that it becomes one massive churn of Quips? Really you'd need to see the raw data regarding how effective it is rather than pull quotes.
