Fading back, the boys hand reaches towards the sun. The boy looks emotionally drained and exhausted. His headband is tattered and caught in the branches of a nearby tree. He collapses to the ground, before looking up and working up the strength to sit up in the grass.
The headband fades away, and the view changes to a miner using an iron tool to cut clay out of a wall. they load the clay onto a cart and push it, passing by a man with a broken injured leg being attended to by a medic, fellow miners stand around in the background. the clay is placed into boxes and loaded onto a horse drawn truck. As the truck leaves, the minor looks down at their hand in a contemplative way. The medic gives a thumbs up and the injured man smiles uneasily.
The corpses of the warrior and knight lay on the ground, covered in blood and decomposing. The boy clutches his head and face, before looking again, now only seeing the remains of the toys.
A rock smashes through, and both of the toys are shattered into pieces
The exhausted warrior awaits the attack of the knight. tears in his eyes, he thrusts his blade forwards as the knight swings his sword. A final clash. In silhouette, the warriors throat is slashed and the knight is impaled.
The violence continues. A rock smashes one of the figures faces, as the warrior suffers a pommel strike to the face, breaking his nose and gushing blood. Vicious blows are traded as the toys become more and more damaged. The two men are in a hideous condition with beaten, bruised faces and covered with blood.
Realizing the knight left a decoy, the warrior swings his sword around, cutting the knight, who was readying a attack across the chest. The knights sword comes down regardless, striking the warrior. The boys playing intensifies, brandishing a rock, with each figure becoming cut and cracked, with pieces flying off.
The next morning, the boy awakens from his rough sleep, yawning as the sun rises over the mountains. as he gets dressed, his face shows a look of focused yet unemotive resoluteness. he retrieves his toys from the bushes.
the shimmering darkness becomes water, and a carp swims through it, before being speared by a prehistoric fisherwoman. another woman looks at her enviously as she prepares the fish and picks up a large rock. looking up from her catch, she sees her, silhouetted and holding the rock over her head. ants are then seen swarming towards the decomposing fish.
The knight points to the ground, signifying to the warrior to meet back here tomorrow as the moon is seen in the sky. The boy conceals the figures away in bushes, and the two men, having removed their armour, tend to their injuries. The boy wraps himself in his cloak for warmth.
The knights left shoulder pad is ripped off by the attack, leaving a wound. In retaliation, he grabs the warriors face and slams him to the ground, as the boy similarly slams one of the figures against the ground.
Stumbling across the knight, the warrior is shocked. The knight stands to action and both men draw their swords
Opening his backpack, the boy takes out the two figures. He looks down at them, tears briefly welling in his sad eyes before turning to a stoic determination. He places one of the figures against a rock.
The boy walks past a field of wheat as the sun rises. A friendly farmer waves as he walks past, but the boy ignores them. The farmer looks uneasy, but shrugs it off, continuing their work of raking a triangular pattern into the crop field.
Sneaking downstairs with his backpack on, the boy gets dressed, putting on a headband, cloak, and shoes. He quietly opens the door and leaves.
Light shines from the window, illuminating two warrior figures on a table. Wooden cloud decals are attached to the wall. A boy is laying awake in bed, his eye glaring at the figures.
