Children who rely on school breakfast and lunch programs during the school year often face hunger when classrooms and cafeterias are closed. Through the Summer Nutrition Program, we provide nutritious meals kids need to continue growing and learning when school isn’t in session.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for packing 275 Buddy Bags on Tuesday, and to our drivers for delivering them to local FXBG schools on Thursday! A special thank you to Delegate Josh Cole for joining us during packing, keeping us informed, and encouraging us to keep doing the good work and moving forward. In the middle of all the chaos around us, taking time to volunteer for such a meaningful cause is not only impactful—it lifts all of our spirits. This organization is truly incredible, and being part of their work was such a rewarding experience. They’ll be expanding into more Spotsylvania schools in the 2026–27 school year, which means an even greater need for volunteers and drivers to support their growing impact. We’ll have more group opportunities coming up later this year, but in the meantime, we encourage everyone to take a few minutes to visit their website and learn more about what they do.
