In seattle they also used twitter for quite some time, people were replying with some extremely inappropriate stuff under the tweet. I complained on reddit and after a ton of complaints from people on the subreddit and elsewhere they eventually switched to the official .gov website

doesn't have to be reddit specifically, but try spreading awareness that you need a twitter account to view it, which requires a phone number and often goes down and has heavy rate limiting to others around you so they can complain too
