What I usually do: 1) Get as much lube out of the zipper fabric as you can. I like to start with dawn soap and then also use isopropyl alcohol to get it as un-lubey as possible 2) Paint one or two thin layers of Copydex on the zipper fabric (Copydex is basically liquid latex adhesive). Let it absorb into the fabric and dry. Try to not let the copydex touch the rubber yet or it'll stick and it'll be hard to peel apart 3) Prep the rubber with your rubber glue like you would for a normal repair 4) When everything's dry, push them together. Be careful in aligining everything right; when the copydex sticks it really sticks
