Pebbles and Sam @sshore.bsky.social · Jun 16 The most cautious and wary cat ever, Pebbles has “Fear of feet.” She will not allow you to walk close and will stop short if you approach. We never know an adopted cat’s history, but Pebbles either faced abuse or more likely a stumbling aged owner who inadvertently kicked her.

Pebbles immediately sensed a difference. I had opened her isolation room door and the day after Sally passed, I found Pebbles sleeping on my bed. For the next couple of months, she continued to retreat under the day bed but by Christmas she was sleeping two feet away on “our” bed.
