Pebbles immediately sensed a difference. I had opened her isolation room door and the day after Sally passed, I found Pebbles sleeping on my bed. For the next couple of months, she continued to retreat under the day bed but by Christmas she was sleeping two feet away on “our” bed.

Cats know what they need and Pebbles was soon allowing the enthusiastic petting and occasional brushing she loves more than any other cat I’ve known. As long as I am lying down or sitting on the couch, she has no fear. Stand up and she retreats. She has discovered the outside at the door or window.
