The matter has been agendized at tomorrow’s meeting of the Rules and Legislation Committee, Thursday November 20, at 10:30am, City Hall (meeting details). We need as many community members as possible to show up and call out this flagrant overreach. Unfortunately, because the agenda was posted less than 24 hours before the meeting, the window for e-comments has already closed. If you cannot go to the meeting, please email the members of the Rules and Legislation Committee, copying the City Clerk so that it will go on public record. Contact information and sample language below. Please spread the word! SAMPLE E-MAIL AND TALKING POINTS Subject: Reject the overreach of the Flock proposal and open public comment Dear [Councilmember's name], I am writing to express my outrage over the attempt to push through the Flock proposal after its clear defeat at the Public Safety Committee meeting last night. Hundreds of Oakland residents showed up to voice their opposition, and the Privacy Advisory Commission also voted against this proposal.
