Fav games of 2024! Sonic Frontiers - Not perfect and a bit repetitive, but I still really enjoyed my time with it, especially when I was abusing its physics, ost and boss fights were amazing. Cyberpunk 2077 - I was very skeptical of this game going into it, but overall I walked away loving a whole lot of it, especially its dlc. In it's current state it's fantastic, but I also can't help but think it could've been an rpg to define a decade if its development wasn't so mismanaged. Edgerunners is an amazing adaptation btw. Monster Hunter World - This game literally felt like a 9-5 job for a whole month I was so fucking addicted, and the focus this game has on its ecology is my absolute favorite thing about it, looking forward to more of that in Wilds next year. Disco Elysium - I think this is truly one of the best videogames ever made, if you try this game and it bounces off of you, I feel truly sorry for you. Rimworld - A harsh mistress, addicting as hell and mods are an insanely fun rabbit hole to go down. If you're daunted by the dlc and their prices, trust me, just play the vanilla game because you will not get much mileage out of any additional content until you understand the fundamentals. Shadow Generations - I already played a ton of Sonic games this year, including Shadow The Hedgehog 2005 which I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it, so this was an amazing capstone to all of those experiences, kickass game and banger ost. The Upturned - It's just funny as hell and was made by the same person responsible for Lethal Company, highly recommend it for its cheap price and the fun factor of its writing and level design. Final Fantasy XVI - I'm literally at the final boss and doing dlc, I have way too many thought to put to words here, but it's is both the best and worst of FFXIV in a standalone game. Regardless I think the good outweighs the bad for the sake of my tastes, and I love what it stands for as a Final Fantasy game.
