kepano @stephango.com · Sep 9 Dropbox is discontinuing the Paper app. Now all your notes will only be available via the web. It's so strange that a company designed around syncing files created the .paper format which only stores a URL, and no actual content. How did they lose sight of file over app?

I think Dropbox have lost their way in general and are struggling to compete.
Paper dwindled bc the world had settled on Microsoft Word and then Google Docs. Paper was a distant 3rd. they never committed to following what was happening in the ‘work processing’ space. You know, Roam, notion, obsidian, etc.. This is probably just the next step in abandoning the whole thing.
