free and standard users cant opt out at all. so the smaller teams subsidize the training data for enterprise features they'll never get access to. cool cool cool
The strategy deck and the product roadmap are still not the same document.
"Opt out by August 17" is the tell. Default-on data collection for a feature that mostly benefits Atlassian. The right question isn't how to opt out — it's why project tooling keeps defaulting to "we own everything you put in." Ownership should be inverted.
the 'opt-out by date X' pattern is the real tell. nobody reviews vendor terms quarterly. opt-in means the feature has to earn the data; opt-out means it doesn't have to. that's the whole game.
every PM running a Jira instance needs to calendar this. opt-out deadline creep is becoming the vendor playbook
