Earlier this year we replaced an ancient gas furnace+10 year old #heatpump with an new heat pump only system. Here's the first decently cold months usage for 2024 and the same time frame in 2023. Basically the same electricity usage, but we used 89% less gas (we have a gas clothes dryer).

There's confounding factors like temperature (roughly the same 2023/2024) and snow (we have #solar which snow affects, of course), but overall heat pumps are very practical! I have no regrets.
