also: regular ol' original recipe misogyny to boot. there's an implication here that women patients be subjected to verification of their "biological" sex, but not male patients. if the look-at-his-face test sorts somebody into the men's ward, that's it. women must be inspected somehow, and I think we can guess how if transphobes want to commit to the idea that any of this is about cis women's dignity or safety, we need at minimum 3 categories: 1: women who would rather show a security guard their pussy than stand next to a trans woman 2: normal women 3: men

Personally, I hear a lot of parents of all ages talking like their kids are their property and bemoaning what you can't say to them anymore. I'm sympathetic to taking hard lines like "take a shower! no discussion!" and whatever else around chores and work ethic. But if your kid is brave enough to say they're transgender you better fucking believe and support them. Just believe them. Let them play dressup and act how they want, gender is a performance and what better time to learn about it than before they're multiple decades down one path. Don't make it a traumatic thing when kids already have so much to deal with.
