The people willing to destroy our town with an AI War research center are the same people willing to extrajudicially shoot protestors or lay siege to one of our neighbors for 30+ hours as he suffers a mental health crisis. If we want to beat this data center, we must love one another enough to be against state, imperialist ,and genocidal violence of all kinds, and find any way to resist it we can!!

UMich is building the world’s “biggest, baddest, fastest” supercomputer for the US military-industrial complex, in conjunction with Los Alamos National Labs. It will consume more power than all of the homes in Ypsi Township combined and more than 40 times the power draw of UM’s existing computing facilities. This facility will primarily be used for nuclear weapons development and production. The good news? Community activism works. We forced the University to push back construction of the data center two years, to 2028 – let’s keep going and shut down the data center project forever. Sign the petition today! CALL FOR SKILL SHARE SUBMISSIONS The Data Center weekend of action (10/9-10/13) is coming up and we plan to kick it off on Friday and Saturday with skill shares, workshops, and art builds! The plan is to host these in North Hydro Park weather permitting. We have alternate locations available in downtown Ypsi if outdoors isn’t feasible due to weather. We’d love for folks in our community and beyond to bring their skills and experiences to share! We will have multiple skills shares happening concurrently so participants can pick between them from 10am-6pm (w/ lunch break 1-2). What we need from you: Please pitch your skill share ideas to stopthedatacenter@proton.me BY OCTOBER 1st. Also share any material requests you have (we’ll do our best but no promises), any specific access needs you have, and timing preferences. YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AN EXPERT TO HAVE THINGS TO SHARE! WE WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU! WE WELCOME ANY AND ALL LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE/SKILL, IF YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING, WE PROBABLY WILL BE TOO!
