A red dragonfly sitting on the leaf-covered ground. Its entire body is a vibrant red, with even the wings having reddish veins. It is facing left, seen from an angle of 45°
A close-up shot of a mud-dauber wasp. It is seen from the side, as seems to be cleaning its front leg with its mouth. It's mostly shiny black with some yellow highlights on the legs and thorax.
The wasp flies for half a second before landing in the plants, around the spot I photographed it on in the previous posts.
Same wasp as previously, but it's hiding most of its body behind the green stem of a water plant. You get a nice few of the distal end of its abdomen, with two terminal segments distinctly black, or rather very dark brown.
A wasp, sitting in the middle of a blade of grass, surrounded by what seems to be dense vegetation. It is mostly black and yellow, with dark transparent wings. It doesn't quite look like a common wasp, it is both bigger, more slender, and with a different color pattern. Only the side of its head, the distal half of its antennae, its thorax, and the tip of its abdomen, are black. The rest is yellow.
An ant standing on a rusty metal surface partially covered with lichen. Its head and abdomen are both black and shiny, with a pale yellow dot on the abdomen. Its thorax is burgundy red, and it's also quite a bit larger than a regular worker ant would be. The ant is seen from the side, with blurry trees in the background.
A male ant on a white wall. To the untrained eye, it might look like a weird wasp or a slender fly. It has a black head and black abdomen, but the thorax and legs are orange. It has big eyes, and straight antennae.
A vetch pod, and three seeds, along with a 1€ coin for scale. The pod looks like a small black been pod. The seeds are black and spherical, like very dry peas.
A fly standing on a piece of thyme. It looks quite alien for a fly though, with long orange legs, pointy mouth parts, and a strong thorax. It is a robber fly, and its overall morphology reminds one of a dragonfly.
A spider on its web. the spider is out of focus, but at the center of the picture you can see very well a structure in the web : a white zig-zag made of thicker silk. This vertical band goes up and down from the spot at the center of the web where the spider rests.
A dark insect feeding on a hogweed flower. It's entire body is a very dark, slightly iridescent, blue. Its wings are slightly dark as well, folded along its body.
A black and yellow wasp inspecting the wet floor. It's sticking its head very close, maybe tasting the mud. It's then walking around and leaving the frame. The wasp is mostly black, with yellow at the distal end of its legs, at two spots on the thorax, and at the base of the antennae.
A wall lizard, laying on a rock. It's seen from above, and is suspiciously looking at the camera ready to flee. A big rock just behind it would provide proper shelter.
A beetle atop a flower. It's seen from the side, with its hindlegs hanging in the air behind it. Almost the entire body is covered in a beige fuzz, more dense on the ventral side. It has short antennae ending in a three-part fan. Its head, pronotum, and legs are dark with a slight green iridescence, and the elytra are ochre.
A beetle standing at the edge of a metal platform. It has very long antennae, typical of longhorn beetles. What's quite atypical for the family is the length of its elytra, not even long enough to cover half of its wings. They are brown with a black apex baring a diagonal white mark. In addition, the beetle has enlarged femurs on all legs, mostly at the apex in the mid- and hindlegs. Around its black pronotum, a light light and shiny pubescence gives it a silver lining, it looks very cute!
A lady beetle walking along the side of a leaf. The lady beetle doesn't look like your typical one : it looks a bit more pruinous or hairy. Or both maybe. It has the classic ''black dot on red'' pattern on its elytra, but the red is more orange, and the rest of its body is also orange! The leaf looks very lush, and is also a bit hairy.

The bigger chrysalis is brown with a few golden spots, while the smaller one is darker brown, with silvery spots, making it look like very fancy bird poop.

A black wasp seen through a white net. It's a bit more slender than a common social waps. It also has longer antennae, and red legs. At the end of its abdomen starts a thick tube, the ovipositor.
An insect, standing on the lower side of a twig. It has long wings covering most of its body. It seems to be mostly light yellow and dark brown, with big black eyes and long twirly antennae. Its wings have a complex network of veins.
A moth is standing on the asphalt floor. It has a beautiful pattern of grey-brown, green, and silver on its wings and thorax. It is quite fluffy at well, with a tuft of hair forming a peak behind its head. It's seen from the side, and you can see one of its round black eyes.

The male is slightly darker purple, and you can see its very round pronotum giving it a bit of a hunch. The elytra are densely punctuated, giving them a grainy texture.
A blue butterfly, standing on a dried up dandelion-like flower. It's seen from the side, and with its wings slightly raised you can only see the underside of them, not the blue. Instead, they are grey-brown with many black dots circled in white. Around the posterior margin, orange spots are also joining the party. A part of the hind wings appear to be a bit damaged, a part is missing. With the light shining on the wings, the white fringes are very visible and quite cute. The body of the butterfly is fluffy and light grey-blue. From this profile view, you see only one big black eye, and the cute snout raising upward. the antennae are striped black and grey, ending in a nice dark club.
A strange kind of fly, shot just after it was taking of from a rock. The wings are only a blurry shadow around its fluffy black body. The hind legs are extended in the back, while the two frontal pairs of leg are neatly kept close to the body. You can only barely distinguish two dark red eyes, with a long rostrum, on the head.
A very nice moth, sitting on the apex of vetch leaf. It's a burnet moth, wings orderly stored along its body, dark blue with five bright red dots. You can see the characteristic shape of its antennae, a bit thicker a bit before the apex. In the background is a dense, blurry mess of more vetch plants.
A simple shot of a wing on the cobblestone floor. It has a shape close to a typical bird feather, a bit more triangular. It has a beige stroke in the middle, warm brown above and below it. The lower border has a wide grey margin.

The butterfly has its wings at a 45° angle from horizontal, and is seen from the side, so you can see both sides a bit. The upper side is velvet black with white spots, and the under side warm brown with the same white spots.

A sawfly standing on a very green leaf of some sort. The leaf has some droplets of water on it, giving the whole scene a very wet vibe. The sawfly is bright orange and black, with the black part suite shiny. It has black eyes, tip of antennae, and a black pattern on the back. The rest is almost entirely bright orange. It has a wide head, and quite strong shoulders. The wings are folded together tightly, reaching a bit beyond the tip of its abdomen. A very pretty insect, looking like a weird bulky wasp overall.
