TRULY. like ok I don't think people are Wrong when they frame the issue like 'the problem is sj felt unloved and the important part is to prove to him that yq wanted to come back for him' but I was actually lowkey confused the first time I saw it cuz when I read the book I was like 'the issue would be resolved if he knew yqy Suffered and that his cultivation isn't actually better than sj's bc it's fucked up and evil and that means they're still the same (furi: yqy isn't Better than him)' bc I was so enamored and locked in on sj's whole envy/inferiority complex thing he had going on it made me stupid. forgot people get abandonment complexes

I wanted to put a flower backdrop on that art just for like. a visual link to the event (that wasn't just straight up drawing yqy's tits or something) (I could have done that but it would have taken longer. instead I just made it the blog header) so initially I looked up what flower May is associated with in China since it's a May event (pomegranate blossoms) but I decided that didn't really suit him. which could also be fun in its own way but I expanded out to see what flowers are just generally associated with spring, and got orchids, and then I looked up orchid symbolism and saw a lot of quote from Confucius about orchids being symbolic of a gentleman's virtues of humility and enduring hardship and so on and I went Oh Cool. and then I was scrolling through images of orchids and I looked at one of the pictures of one with the stem tied up to make it grow straight up and then I hurt myself
