Guided by local experts, this family-friendly event includes bird and bat walks, moth trapping, biodiversity surveys, bug hunts and nature activities for children. Our 2025/26 housing starts mean that we are in the top 10 local authorities in England for house building. We will be building more homes than every unitary authority, and higher still than Birmingham, Merseyside and Tyne & Wear, despite them having a combined population of 3.8 million people, compared to 126,000 in Stroud District. Our delivery pipeline: 119 homes; 447 people to benefit. Acquisitions programme: 104 homes; 390 people to benefit. Total impact: 223 homes in pipeline; 837 people supported. Our programme has grown +28% from 93 to 119 homes. Exceeding our council plan target +132% 223 homes vs 96 target. Over 800 people supported through our pipeline. The "sleeps" story: 51 homes = around 70,000 safe, secure nights of housing per year. With our pipeline coming through +235,000 additional "sleeps" incoming. Total around 305,000 safe nights of housing delivered each year. Small district - Big delivery. Solving fundamental problems for our communities. More affordable homes. Building the homes people need. Safe, secure lives, providing stability.

Myth #10: "A vote for Green is a wasted vote" Fact: In 2026, the Greens are winning in "Reform country" and "Labour heartlands." With local council gains and record-high polling, a Green vote is now the most effective way to demand real change.
Myth #9: "They are 'Far-Left' extremists" Fact: Most Green policies - like clean water, warm homes, and a functional NHS - are common sense. In many European countries, these are considered "centre-ground" ideas.
Myth #8: "They don't care about women's rights" Fact: We are the party of Universal Childcare and ending the "Two-Child Limit." We fight for 50/50 representation and massive investment in women’s healthcare (menopause, endometriosis, maternity).
Myth #7: "They will tax ordinary workers into poverty" Fact: Our target is the top 1%. We propose a wealth tax on those with over £10m in assets. For the average worker, our policies (like Universal Basic Income, £15 minimum wage for all, and 1:10 pay ratios) would actually increase financial security.
Myth #6: "They want to legalise crack and heroin" Fact: We want to medically regulate them. By taking hard drugs out of the hands of gangs and putting them into a medical setting for addicts, we stop the street violence and get people into treatment.
Myth #5: "They would leave the UK defenceless by quitting NATO" Fact: While our long-term goal is global peace, the 2026 leadership has confirmed we would not leave NATO during an active conflict in Europe. We are pragmatists, not isolationists.
Myth #4: "They want to ban all meat and cars" Fact: We want better choices. This means making high-quality local food and reliable public transport so cheap and convenient that they become the natural first choice, not a forced one.
Myth #3: "They are an Islamist / sectarian party" Fact: The Greens are a secular party. We represent everyone who is tired of the status quo. Winning votes in diverse communities isn't "sectarian"—it’s what a national party is supposed to do.
Myth #2: "They want open borders for everyone" Fact: We want safe routes. Currently, the system is chaotic because there’s no legal way to apply for asylum. By creating a "Front Door," we destroy the business model of the small-boat gangs and restore order.
Myth #1: "They want to abolish the police and prisons" Fact: We want to improve them. The focus is on community policing and rehabilitation. By tackling the root causes of crime (poverty, addiction, lack of mental health care), we reduce the need for more expensive, overcrowded prisons.
