A peregrine falcon has taken off in front of a church tower and is flying towards the observer. However the peregrine is not captured rather its shadow. Its wings are wide and the tail fanned open. The shadow dives towards the ground.
Stamford's tiercel (male peregrine) flies off from All Saints' church spire on a hunting mission. He's flying downwards to the left of the camera and looking fixedly forward. His angle means we see the top side of his body with both wings fully extended along with his tail like a hand of cards in bridge.
A female peregrine female is on a gargoyle, her ringed mate is sat about 10 m from her and she presents as if ready for mating and he flies in but he veers off. I found out shortly after she had a stash of food that he took. Maybe he was after than rather than reproduction
