The image attached reads: There's a new kind of social engineering scam going around that involves community managers and moderation staff, be warned. A user will join your chat server (usually discord) and will either direct message a moderator or open a ticket, post an unsubstantiated claim that a user sent them links to malware or child sexual exploitation material, some kind of very fishy looking scam etc. They usually do this with a phone recording of them going and selecting the users ID and ask for the user to be banned. The scammer doing this will almost always be a fresh joined account with no server post history. AFTER the victim is banned, the scammer and their friends will contact the person claiming to be part of the community management staff of the server they were just banned from in order to carry out a phishing attack to gain control of an account. Often times this appears to be a roblox or steam account that has valuable items on it so that the scammer may then steal the items and sell them at the victim's personal loss. Due to the nature of this attack, it is also incredibly insidious and may falsely taint someone's reputation as being a peddler of scams or illegal material. They may even sometimes have multiple accounts join to report the same user so that they can feign legitimacy via cross referential reports.
