I still can’t sleep. I look up at the fan spinning above my head. I imagine her body hanging from it. The fan slows, it creaks and groans under the weight of her body. Athena’s neck breaks for a third time. I hear footsteps outside the room. Did security hear the sound of a girl’s neck breaking? Was it as loud for them as it was for me? Athena stands. Her blue eyes look down at me. They aren’t the same color as they were when she was alive. My laptop is perched precariously on the corner of the cheap hotel desk.
