Especially if it is a new part of someone's daily life... And using it may or may not be reversible, or even consistent... NO ONE is "confined" to a wheelchair. No one, anywhere, ever. By definition and function, a wheelchair is a device for mobility. While someone may or may not be in a place to view wheelchairs as tools for freedom and/or independence, that is also something that they ARE, and more people should think of them that way. And unless something is very wrong, a wheelchair user DOES leave their wheelchair one way or another, so they are not literally confined to it, either.
