It was supposed to provide maximum replayability and gameplay depth through ingenious game design innovations, but instead it was a complicated mess of rules and controls that were neither fun nor understandable. Somehow I lost myself in a ridiculous concoction of self-indulgent, games-are-art-theory-innovation wankery. Truth is, the only things that mattered were the games that inspired me to make games in the first place. Thus began my journey back to the roots of my gaming youth: the top-down shoot-em-up. From the classic shooters of yore to today's modern interpretations, I studied the works until I realized that even the simplest of things can be the most beautiful of things. Armed with this little piece of knowledge, I finally understood how to make the game that I truly wanted to make. A few months later, Everyday Shooter was born. I owe a lot to the inspirational work of Kenta Cho, Kanta "OMEGA" Matsuhisa, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, and countless others in the freeware community. If this game is worth anything, it is because it was built on the shoulders of those giants. I hope so dearly that I can repay my debt to them by inspiring someone else out there to create something great. Have fun, and good game!

Yes, you can not jump while sliding if grounded. Only when sliding after being not grounded. Ramps and curbs make you not grounded. So you can jump after sliding on them. People in the movement "scene" call this -something- buffer I can't remember. View attachment 2024-10-26 09-25-00.mp4 Airdash into slide is a tiny bit slower than Dash into slide. But grants you the possibility of jumping when sliding and combo/chain slides, so you will get further with the same stamina bar.
