White people in particular: our communities have a track record of being recruited by those at the top to reject solidarity with working class people of color and instead choose whiteness. And- there are historic stories of solidarity too.

Like the white miners in West Virginia at the Battle of Blair Mountain in 1921 who stood with Black and brown fellow workers fighting for a union in the largest labor uprising in the history of the US. Those that were union wore red bandanas, the historical root of the term “redneck.”
